Meet the Providers
SHWC Directors
Executive and Medical Director Joseph Puccio, MD, plans, directs, and coordinates the medical and health services of 国产短视频Student Health & Wellness Center clinics on all campuses and practices as a medical doctor. Dr. Puccio serves as Associate Vice President for Health & Wellness. Director of Business Operations, Marisol Amarante, oversees the business functions of all 国产短视频Student Health & Wellness Center clinics.
Physicians
Physicians are Medical Doctors (M.D.) or Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) who diagnose, treat, and helps prevent diseases and injuries that commonly occur in the general population. May refer patients to specialists when needed for further diagnosis or treatment.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
APRNs diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. They may focus on health promotion and disease prevention, and may order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medication. Must be registered nurses who have specialized graduate education.
Case Managers
Case Managers assist students with the coordination of their medical/psychiatric care. The Case Manager will link students to medical specialists, financial resources or other appropriate community resources.
Psychiatric Providers
Psychiatrists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who evaluates patients to determine if symptoms are the result of a physical illness, a combination of physical and mental, or a strictly psychiatric disorder. Psychiatric nurse practitioners are Registered Nurses, who complete specific advanced graduate programs to specialize in psychiatry, offering both acute and long-term care.
Neuropsychologist
Neuropsychologists are psychologists who are specially trained to perform testing and evaluations for ADHD and other learning disabilities. They also evaluate brain trauma. After testing, a Neuropsychologist will also make recommendations for academic or work accommodation if needed.
Registered Dietitians (RD)
RDs provide medical nutrition therapy to assist in health promotion and nutrition management of chronic diseases.
Physical Therapists
Physical Therapists are health care professionals who collaborate with medical providers to provide preventative services, urgent care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. They play a significant role in the management, prevention, recognition and rehabilitation of injured patients by developing athletic injury prevention and treatment programs.
