In July 2017 the Patel College of Global Sustainability (PCGS) and the School of Chemical Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in Greece partnered to conduct an algae project. The project will take place over the course of the following 12 months.
Dr. George Philippidis of PCGS and Dr. Christos Chatzidoukas of AUTh will assess the productivity of USF's novel algae cultivation system with a promising AUTh native algae strain for the production of high-value nutraceuticals, proteins, and lipids. The two institutions have already signed a general collaboration agreement.
The study will be performed in Dr. Chatzidoukas's lab in close collaboration with Dr. Philippidis's Biofuels & Bioproducts Lab. The goal is to assess the potential of this novel technology to reduce capital and operation costs and enhance the sustainability of algae production for the bioeconomy of the future.
The scalable 国产短视频technology has already been licensed by 国产短视频to Culture BioSystems Inc. (Coral Gables, FL), and a patent is in preparation.
