Transfer Resources

Transfer Admission Types

Lower-Level Transfer

If you have graduated from high school and have earned 12 to 29 transferrable credits prior to enrolling at ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵ(including in-progress credits), ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵconsiders you a lower-level transfer applicant. At least 12 transferable credits (not including credit by exam) must be earned post high school graduation and prior to the file completion deadline for the term you have applied for.

In addition, you must meet the Florida Board of Governors minimums. A 2.50 transfer or postsecondary transferrable GPA is required.

Visit the admissions page for more information.

Mid-Level Transfer

If you have graduated from high school and obtained 30-59 transferrable credits (including in-progress credits), ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵconsiders you a mid-level transfer student.

Students must have at least a C in both a college-level math course and a college-level English composition course.  A 2.50 transfer GPA is required.

Visit the admissions page for more information.

Upper-Level Transfer

If you have graduated from high school and obtained 60+ transferrable credits (including in-progress credits), ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵconsiders you an upper-level transfer student.

Students without an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from a Florida College System institution must have a minimum transferrable GPA of 2.30.  Students with an AA degree from a Florida College System institution must have a minimum transferrable GPA of 2.00.

All transfer students (lower-, mid-, and upper-level) must have a courses completion ratio ≥ 67%. Completion ratio is the percentage of courses completed versus attempted.

Visit the admissions page for more information.

Transferring with an Associate of Arts Degree (AA)

Applicants who apply for transfer admissions to enter ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵimmediately after earning their A.A. degree from a Florida College System institution and have a 2.0 GPA will be guaranteed admissions, automatically met General Education requirements, and transfer with at least 60 credit hours, so long as they meet all applicable criteria.

  • Applicants for Selective Majors must meet additional major-specific admissions criteria to be admissible to USF. To see a list of Select Majors, click here.
  • If you are completing your AA degree as a dual enrollment high school student, please click here for additional information.

Visit the admissions page for more information.

Transferring with an Associate of Science Degree (AS)

Students transferring with an AS degree DO NOT automatically meet the general education course requirements. AS applicants will have credits evaluated as part of the admission process on a course-by-course basis. There is also the option of transferring with the AS and pursing the Bachelor of Science in Applied Science, which would guarantee the transfer of credits.

Out-of-State Transfer

Students transferring from an out-of-state institution will have their credentials reviewed to assess transferable credit. An AA degree from out of state does not guarantee transfer of credit automatically. Somce courses from out-of-state institutions that have been evaluated previously may be part of our articulation catalog, and transfer in seamlessly.
