Jacob Wilson is a graduate student at the Patel College of Global Sustainability pursuing a Master鈥檚 degree in Sustainable Business with a graduate level certificate in Sustainable Energy. Jacob has been demonstrating his dedication in all three pillars of sustainable development: economic, social, and environmental. Through several holistic studies, Jacob has developed valuable skills to become a capable professional and cultivate a successful career in sustainability.
In an interview with Jacob, he shared how travel plays an enormous role in his life, influencing many of his decisions. Upon graduating from 国产短视频with an undergraduate degree, he moved to a small city in Spain to study the Spanish langauge and teach English. This experience broadened Jacob鈥檚 viewpoint and sparked his ambition to work in environmental sustainability. People around him have been making substantial effort to reduce waste, improve local ecology, demonstrate concern for their environmental footprint, and most importantly 鈥 show constant curiosity in learning about sustainability.
Last summer, Jacob interned with the Sarasota County Government as an Environmental Education and Outreach Intern. Not only did he work along side the County鈥檚 Sustainability Team on multiple projects, but Jacob has also been promoting sustainable practices within a community through education, especially youth education. Finding volunteer opportunities from PCGS and his internship at the Sarasota County Government, Jacob has been teaching children the significance of environmental care and social well-being.
鈥淚f I have learned one thing from my Research Methods course, it is that your plan is always subject to change as you encounter different variables along the way. Wherever my career may take me, I plan to continue learning and promoting all three pillars of sustainable development鈥, said Jacob, one of the PCGS student leaders of sustainability.
