The ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵ continues to monitor impacts of Hurricane Ian to our region and our community. The safety of our students, faculty and staff remains our highest priority as we develop our reopening plans.
Since Thursday morning ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵstaff members have been working to survey buildings on all our campuses to assess the readiness for return. Fortunately, our campuses did not suffer significant damage.
Business operations and all classes, including online classes, will resume on Monday, Oct. 3. ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵstaff are working to restore select on-campus services, including housing, dining and recreational facilities, beginning on Friday. Hours of operation for all on-campus facilities will be updated with other FAQs here.
Only ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵemployees who are (1) classified as essential personnel, (2) identified by their supervisors as vital to campus operations or (3) working in a facility that is reopening before Monday should report to work prior to normal business operations resuming on Monday, in consultation with their supervisors. Employees who do not fall into these categories are not expected to work, remotely or otherwise, until Monday. Please contact your supervisor if you are unsure of your status.
Faculty and researchers who wish to come back to campus to assess lab space will be able to do so once the readiness check is complete. Additional guidance will be provided by the Provost’s Office and ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵHealth.
¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵresidence halls on the Tampa campus are open. Residential students on the Tampa campus who left campus for the storm may begin to return today. Residence halls on the St. Petersburg campus will reopen at noon on Friday, Sept 30. St. Petersburg residential students who were relocated to Tampa during the storm have been transported back to St. Petersburg.
¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵHealth clinical facilities will reopen on Friday, Sept. 30. Anyone with questions can call the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵHealth appointments hotline at 813-821-8038.
Students who left the region because of the storm and won’t be able to return in time for Monday’s classes should notify their instructors as soon as possible. Employees who left the region and won’t be able to return by Monday should notify supervisors as soon as possible. Faculty members and supervisors are asked to be patient and understanding with their students and staff during these unique circumstances. Hurricane Ian continues to pose a significant threat to the Tampa Bay region. The safety of our community is our highest priority.
Classes are canceled and will resume on Monday, Oct. 3. Additionally, business operations are closed, resuming Monday, Oct. 3, except for essential personnel. This includes those who have been identified by supervisors as vital to campus operations, including staff to help restore campus operations, assuming safe conditions. All USF buildings, except residence halls, will close and move to emergency mode at noon today.

As you are aware, Hurricane Ian is expected to impact Florida in the coming days. The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority.
For this reason, classes are canceled and will resume on Monday, Oct. 3.
All ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵcampuses and business operations will close beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 27, through at least Thursday, Sept. 29. A decision regarding business operations on Friday, Sept. 30, will be announced on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Academic and research buildings will move to emergency mode at noon on Tuesday to allow emergency teams to prepare for impending weather. Once buildings move to emergency mode, only emergency personnel will be permitted to enter until campuses re-open.
Residence Halls in Tampa remain open at this time. Residence halls in St. Petersburg have been ordered to evacuate. Residential students from St. Petersburg who do not have alternative housing options will be relocated to the Tampa campus at 9 a.m. Tuesday; ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵHousing and Residential Education staff are coordinating directly with impacted students to provide instructions. If the Tampa campus is required to evacuate, students remaining on campus would be transported to approved county shelters until it is safe to return.

The ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵ continues to closely monitor Tropical Storm Ian and any potential impacts to the Tampa Bay region. The path of the storm remains highly unpredictable and could change in the coming days. That said, the safety of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority as we track the storm.
Based on the latest weather information and related closures in our region, all USF classes will be canceled starting on Monday, Sept. 26, through Thursday, Sept. 29. This will allow for students to make any necessary preparations or travel ahead of the storm.
Business operations will continue on Monday. Employees should work with supervisors to determine operational needs; Supervisors are encouraged to provide appropriate flexibility wherever possible.
All campuses will begin closing Tuesday, Sept 27. Specific details about building closure times will be communicated on Monday.
