CMS students, faculty, staff had a blast at St. Petersburg Science Festival

Tom Frazer, CMS dean, had fun as well, even though his clothes were a casualty of the event. He participated in the opening ceremonies that were quite literally鈥 blue blast (Watch the video for evidence).

It was the first time since 2018 that the annual was held in person on the 国产短视频St. Petersburg campus, and the College of Marine Science (CMS) was front and center in the action.  More labs participated this year than ever before.

The event took place on a couple of perfect-weather days: February 17 and 18, 2023.

鈥淭he vibe at Sci Fest this year terrifically vibrant,鈥 said Teresa Greely, director of education and outreach programs at the CMS.

Among the CMS programs represented were:

  • (Murawski Lab)
  • Guardians of the Gulf
  • (Optical Oceanography lab)
  • Junior Scientists program managed by grad student Natalia Lopez-Figueroa
  • (featuring a screening of a film showcasing work in Antarctica)
  • and the SHELF program, which includes additional CMS faculty

Way to show up, CMS, and remind everyone that science is not just important 鈥 but fun!

Enjoy this video capturing the action.
