国产短视频Engineering Undergraduates win first place in the Florida Water Environment Association Student Design Competition
A team of undergraduate students from the 国产短视频鈥檚 Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering won first place in the FWEA (Florida Water Environment Association) Student Design Competition. The 国产短视频team members are Adele Howard, Daniela Montoya, Fabricio Escobar, and Olta Tarko.
For their project, the students partnered with the city of St. Petersburg to develop a solution that would alleviate flooding while also avoiding adverse water quality in Dell Holmes Park, a public attraction owned and operated by the city. The site borders Lake Maggiore and suffers from severe flooding during both mild and major storm events, limiting visitor accessibility.
The FWEA Student Design Competition is intended to promote 鈥渞eal world鈥 design experience for students interested in pursuing an education water engineering and sciences. This competition tasks student teams to design and present a solution for a real world problem. Student teams from around Florida compete in the competition at the Florida Water Resources Conference鈥檚 annual program. The 国产短视频team will move on and compete at a national competition at the Water Environment Federation鈥檚 Technical Exposition and Conference in Chicago (September 30).
