Research Interests:

Assessment and treatment of problem behavior; functional analysis and trial-based functional analysis; translational research; reinforcer efficacy; disability.


Sarah Bloom received her PhD in Psychology at the University of Florida in 2008. She was an assistant professor in the Applied Behavior Analysis area of the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation at Utah State University from 2008 to 2013.

She is currently an associate professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies' Applied Behavior Analysis Program at the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵ. Dr. Bloom is a former President of the Utah Association for Behavior Analysis. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and has been a guest reviewer for Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Research in Developmental Disabilities, Journal of Behavioral Education, Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, Journal of Early Intervention, Children and Youth Services Review, Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior and a guest associate editor for Education and Treatment of Children.

Dr. Bloom’s research interests include assessment and treatment of problem behavior and translational approaches to reinforcer efficacy. Dr. Bloom has been involved in the modification of functional analysis methodology into a trial-based format in order to facilitate its use in educational and other settings.
