Rashed Aboudan
Rashed Aboudan is a double major, studying economics and finance. He serves as director
of business development for Students In Free Enterprise, an extracurricular student
organization that uses outreach projects to teach others basic business principles.
He served as an intern with Hillsborough Economic Development Department, gaining
experience analyzing county statistics and presenting results to high county officials.
After graduation, Aboudan plans to gain significant work experience in order to become
an candidate for the Applied Security Analysis MBA program at the University of Wisconsin.
William Bakos
William Bakos, a previous intern with L-3 Communications and Goldman Sachs, will graduate
in 2012, earning a degree in finance with a minor in entrepreneurship. A former resident
of the Bulls Business Community, Bakos has consistently earned a spot on the Dean's
List and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an invitation-only international honor society
for top students from AACSB-accredited business schools. He plans to attend graduate
school, and, eventually, become a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Christopher Bomia
A senior majoring in finance, Chris Bomia spent two years as a self-employed day trader,
aiming to open a private firm. He recently decided to foster his entrepreneurial spirit
by acting as a boat broker, restoring classic cars, and working as an assistant to
a CEO in Tampa. A member of the National Society of Leadership, Bomia transferred
into 国产短视频after earning an associate's degree, with honors, from St. Petersburg College.
He looks forward to volunteering as a "Big Brother" to a child through Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.
Matthew Casey
Matthew Casey is double majoring in accounting and finance. A first-generation college
student and a participant in the Muma College of Business Corporate Mentors Program,
he participates in professional development programs and is mentored by an area business
executive. Casey excels academically and is a member of the Tau Sigma National Honors
Society, but his success does not come at the expense of extracurricular involvement.
Casey volunteers weekly at Brighton Gardens Retirement Community, where he has founded
the "Investment Club," and is a varsity rower for the 国产短视频Rowing Team. Casey has worked
in student housing as well, gaining sales and marketing experience by working in vendor
and third-party relations for a 947-bedroom community.
Zachary Perdomo
Frequently on the Dean's List for the 国产短视频Muma College of Business, Zachary Perdomo
is the first person in his immediate family to attend college. The Tampa native is
a member of the Student Finance Association and the National Society of Collegiate
Scholars. Pursuing a degree in finance, with a minor in accounting, Perdomo plans
to become a Chartered Financial Analyst after graduation. In addition, he aspires
to run his own hedge fund.
Neal Piper
Since returning to school in 2009, Neal Piper has maintained a 4.0 GPA, doing so while
managing a successful career in direct sales. His professional experience includes
sales and marketing in various industries. While he is consistently a top producer
in his field, Piper's future goals including becoming a financial analyst.
Steven Schertzer
Steven Schertzer has not yet started his senior year of college, but already has two
internships under his belt. A junior pursuing a double-major in finance and marketing,
Schertzer spent a summer as a marketing intern with Allen & Company, where he produced
the "Dollars & Sense" radio show for the investment firm. He is currently serving
as an intern for Scottrade, in day-to-day business operations. A three-year resident
of the Bulls Business Community, the last spent as a resident assistant, Schertzer
has participated in numerous professional development programs. He studied abroad
with the group in 2009, travelling to Panama, and has worked as a student assistant
in the Muma College of Business Dean's Office for two years.
Max Starkman
Max Starkman is a double major in finance and economics. Fluent in English and Spanish,
Starkman has actively managed a diverse team of employees in three Latin American
countries. He recently started a local technology firm that focuses on meeting small
business' needs for security and data management. He aspires to be actively involved
in portfolio management and security analysis.
Michael Valone
Michael Valone is the vice president of UniQuest, an executive search firm that specializes
in financial management placements. His clients include many U.S.-based healthcare
firms and other multi-national businesses, such as Nielsen Media, General Dynamics,
and a global food producer based in Spain. Majoring in finance, with a minor in economics,
Valone will graduate in 2012. He plans to pursue a career in the securities industry.
Gary Wavra
A U.S. Army veteran, Gary Wavra spent four years in service to his country, serving
first as a member of the United States Presidential Salute Battery in Washington D.C.,
and subsequently serving as a squad leader during a year-long combat tour in Iraq.
At the end of his Army career, Wavra began working in the logistics industry, specifically
in the areas of order process flow and activity-based costing metrics. Frequently
included on the Dean's List, Wavra will soon graduate from 国产短视频with a bachelor's degree
in finance, with a minor in accounting. He is a member of the Golden Key International
Honor Society.
