Monica Wooden Center for Supply Chain Management and Sustainability Begins Master's Program
TAMPA (August 13, 2020) -- The Monica Wooden Center for Supply Chain Management and Sustainability at the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵMuma College of Business is launching a new master’s degree program in supply chain management this fall.
Supply chain management is a high-growth industry. At the national level, the logistics sector is projected to increase more than 10 percent through 2026, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, adding nearly 13 million jobs with a median annual wage of $74,590. In Florida, industry analysts say the development of the supply chain management talent pool is highlighted as a core need for workforce development. This new graduate program is a direct response to employers’ requests for advanced training opportunities.
The supply chain master’s degree is a 32-credit-hour, one-year graduate program designed for working professionals who need this advanced training. Students kick off their coursework with one week on campus at the beginning of each semester where they meet with professors and fellow classmates. The remainder of coursework is completed online.
Courses focus on hands-on learning of the fundamentals of 21st century supply chain management including network design, sustainable supply chain management and lean Six Sigma. Beyond the fundamentals, the curriculum equips students to manage supply chain challenges of Industry 4.0 with tools in supply chain analytics, technology innovation and risk management.
