2017 Summer Program for Business Students in Florence, Italy

Scholarships available for pre-accounting and accounting students

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Muma College of Business and ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵWorld are sponsoring its 2017 six week Summer Program in the birthplace of the Renaissance - beautiful Florence, Italy. The Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy is participating by offering "BUL 3320 – Business Law" in the program. As you know, Business Law is a "Core Course" required for all business majors. The course will be modified to include a comparative law section discussing the differences between the Italian and American legal systems. We will also explore the development of the Italian organized crime syndicate "La Costa Nostra" and how this criminal enterprise migrated to the United States and became the Mafia crime families. In addition, we will conduct two "Field Learning Experiences" (FLE) around the Tuscany region of Italy. Students enrolled in two courses in the program will participate in four FLE's. Students will be living in apartments in the neighborhood surrounding the host University with ample opportunity to explore Florence daily. Additional information concerning this program is at .

Twenty $1,000 scholarships to assist pre-accounting and accounting students who have earned a "B" or better in ACG 2021 and ACG 2071 taken at ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵTampa are available through the generosity of the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵLynn Pippenger School of Accountancy Advisory Council.

To be eligible for scholarships you must first complete the Education Abroad Program Application located at the Education Abroad website portal at and second pay the required deposit through the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵEducation Abroad office by a deadline of February 15, 2017. Once you have submitted all required documents and information, an Education Abroad advisor can accept you into the program. Then you can click "commit" to reserve your spot on the program. Pay your program deposit – This can be done online or through the Cashier's Office once the charge is posted to your account after you commit to your program. You can check your OASIS account to view when charges have been posted.

After you have completed the Program Application and paid your deposit, complete the STARS Scholarship Application @ http://www.usf.edu/financial-aid/scholarships/index.aspx
The deadline for requesting scholarships from the Muma College of Business and the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy is March 24, 2017 (Limited funds available).
