Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy programs make top rankings

Tampa, FL (March 8, 2013) — For the first time, the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵLynn Pippenger School of Accountancy's undergraduate and graduate programs are both ranked in the top 50 accounting programs nationally.

In the recent 2012 rankings released by the Public Accounting Report, USF's undergraduate accounting program ranked No. 35 nationally among all programs, and its master's program ranked No. 41 nationally.

"Faculty in the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy care deeply about student success and are dedicated to providing a high-quality educational experience," said Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy Interim Chair Uday Murthy. "These rankings validate our commitment to excellence in our undergraduate and master's programs. Our accounting graduates continue to be sought after by employers, and we hope to attract increasing numbers of outstanding students to our program."

In addition, the Public Accounting Report ranked USF's undergraduate program No. 3 nationally among schools with 15 or fewer full-time faculty and ranked its master's program No. 5 in the same category.

These recent rankings are the latest of several high-profile rankings for the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy. This year, ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵalso was ranked first in the nation in the accounting information systems field, with its faculty leading the way in research at the intersection of accounting and information technology in the preliminary national accounting research rankings for 2012 released by Brigham Young University. It was also in the top 30 in two additional areas of research: audit (21st) and tax (29th).
