Jennifer Yucus designs for good. As a social awareness designer, she travels the globe assisting nonprofit organizations with design work. Yucus visited HopeChest CarePoints with The Table Initiative in 2018 to capture stories of hope and transformation in Uganda. Yucus also continues to explore women鈥檚 issues in Africa, specifically in Uganda and Ethiopia.
In 2017, Yucus traveled to Jordan, where she conducted research to create a new body of work that dives into the misconceptions of the Middle East. She takes these global experiences and translates them into the classroom where her students partner with local non-profits to meet their design needs and shed a light on various social issues in our community. Yucus is the recipient of numerous awards, including from the American Advertising Federation and Florida Print Awards.
Yucus earned her Master of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design and teaches undergraduate courses in package design, history of graphic design and portfolio. She serves as the St. Petersburg Campus Associate Director of the School of Art & Art History and Associate Professor of Graphic Design.
