Adriana Jacob Carneiro is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Zimmerman School of Advertising & Mass Communications, specializing in strategic communication, media studies, and gender studies. Her research focuses on the intersection of media, culture, and gender, with particular attention to gendered political violence and media stereotypes about women in leadership.
Dr. Carneiro has worked as an award-winning special reporter and a public relations professional for both private companies and the state government of Bahia in Brazil. She has taught strategic communication and journalism courses in both the United States and Brazil. Dr. Carneiro enjoys working with the community to build relationships that provide hands-on experiences that benefit students.
