Miami-Dade Public Library System Named as FLA's Library of the Year

Adjunct Professor for the School of Information and Director for the Miami-Dade Public Library System, Ray Baker, and his team have been awarded Library of the Year by the Florida Library Association, Inc. for 2024. 

The announcement, found on LinkedIn, states the following:

"We're thrilled to announce the Miami-Dade Public Library System as FLA's Library of the Year!

Serving 2.7 million residents across 1,921 square miles, MDPLS is more than just a library鈥攊t's a lifeline for their community. From bridging the digital divide with the Community Connectivity Mobile Device Lending Program to providing crucial social services through their dedicated Social Services in Libraries Program, MDPLS is truly a beacon of hope and transformation. Join us in celebrating a library where knowledge thrives, connections flourish, and lives are changed, one chapter at a time."
