Who can subscribe to use this service?
Any active student, staff, or faculty member of the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵcommunity with a NetID and password can subscribe. If you are UMSA staff, a Medical Resident, Yuengling Center staff, or ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵtenant, email usf-emergencymgmt@usf.edu.

Can I register for text messages if I am located on campus but I am not a ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵstudent, staff, or faculty member?
Only if you are UMSA staff, a Medical Resident, Yuengling Center staff, or eligible tenant. The text messaging service is only one of several communication and information sources utilized at USF. Emergency information is available at  and through additional components of the AlertUSF emergency notification system. Contact usf-emergencymgmt@usf.edu for more information.

What if I'm interested in alerts, but I don't have a mobile phone/text messaging capabilities?
The text messaging service is only one of several communication and information sources utilized at USF. Emergency information is available at and through additional components of the AlertUSF emergency notification system.

What types of messages/information will I receive?
You will only receive emergency messages. Occasionally, ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵmay need to test our messaging network to ensure proper operation and functionality in the event of an actual emergency message broadcast.

What is the cost of this service?
The service is free; however, standard text messaging rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details on your plan.

I received a message from 67283 or 226787. What are they?
This is the source of USF's Alert¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵtext message system. Messages from ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵEmergency Notification System are delivered via our partner, , from the shortcode 67283 or 226787.

How do I unsubscribe from these services?
Although we do not recommend unsubscribing from this service, you can opt-out by logging into using your NetID and selecting Opt-Out.

What if my mobile phone number changes?
You simply log into using your NetID and update your account.

I am a parent. Can I register for the text messaging service?
Not at this time. Only active students, faculty, staff, and eligible campus tenants in the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵcommunity can participate. The text messaging service is only one of several communication and information sources utilized at USF. All emergency information is available at .

What happens if I transfer or leave the ¹ú²ú¶ÌÊÓƵ?
Prior to leaving, you can opt-out by logging into using your NetID and selecting Opt-Out.

Will my sign-up information be shared with third parties?
No. Neither the University nor partners will share any mobile phone information at any time with a third party.
